En esta transmisión se celebró el décimo episodio de Atlas Aquática y también en el marco del Día Internacional de la Mujer, se conmemoró su papel y liderazgo dentro de la comunidad pesquera y en pro de la conservación. Por lo tanto, en Con vista al mar, ocurrió un panel de conversación con tres mujeres líderes en la pesca y en la preservación de la naturaleza, quienes hablaron sobre el actual lugar que ocupan las mujeres en tales campos, los desafíos, soluciones e incluso, reflexionaron sobre la relación entre la mujer y el mar o la mar.

Así; María del Carmen García, directora del Parque Nacional Arrecife de Puerto Morelos, destacó la relevancia de la mujer en materia de conservación, pero también detalló que dicho campo debe funcionar con grupos mixtos y equitativos, pues el conocimiento de ambos sexos es valioso, “hombres y mujeres son un gran equipo”, señaló y compartió ejemplos de ello.
Por su parte, Anabel Espinoza quien es cooperativista del Alto Golfo de California, detalló el incremento de la participación de la mujer dentro de su comunidad en el sector pesquero y mostró algunas fotografías que lo evidencian. Pero, pese a las pescadoras y acuicultoras encabezando aquellas tareas, aún persiste una inequidad en su representación: prejuicios y prácticas machistas son algunos desafíos que Espinoza encuentra vigentes.
Mientras que Alejandra Nava, investigadora sociocultural del ITESO con más de 15 años realizando etnografía de pescadores cucapá en Baja California, expresó que parte de lo que ha observado es que, “las mujeres indígenas pescadoras cucapás rompen con el imaginario que tenemos: encabezan charlas, comités, prácticas, son fuertes, inteligentes y líderes”.
Continuó el girl power en La pesca y la cesta, donde Raquel Villanueva entrevistó a la Mtra. Valeria Ortiz, quien desde su experiencia en nutrición y salud pública, explicó las propiedades nutritivas de los productos del mar así como las especies más saludables al alcance de todos los mexicanos cercanos y no a la costa. Igualmente, esclareció aquella duda sobre los metales pesados que se rumora tienen algunos pescados: comerlos equilibradamente, en porciones sanas y priorizarlos en etapas como el embarazo, fueron ciertos datos que brindó.
Por último, en la sección A bordo, el filósofo y escritor Horacio Ortiz presentó La Odisea, un clásico que al mismo tiempo es un contemporáneo en el que el mar juega un rol primordial. Con su análisis se viajó cerca de 3000 años atrás para estar en el espacio-tiempo indicados y examinó lo que significaba el mar en la antigüedad, esto es, desde su papel terrorífico, a la fascinación y otros interesantes atributos.
