En la sección Escafandra, el Dr. Jorge Urbán, investigador de la UABCS y especialista en ballenas, compartió cómo son los primeros minutos de vida de un ballenato al igual que las principales amenazas para estos mamíferos marinos, puntualizando en un fenómeno de mortalidad inusual que los acecha desde hace tres años. Además, habló de la posible nueva especie de ballena anunciada hace poco y enumeró los tipos de tales cetáceos que viven en México, invitándonos a visitarlos responsablemente durante sus avistamientos.
Mientras que en La ciencia y el mar, María José González, directora de MAR Fund, nos explicó qué es el Sistema Arrecifal Mesoamericano, considerado el arrecife transfronterizo más grande del mundo y el segundo arrecife de barrera más largo mundialmente.
